Hello! My name is Ms. Joanna. Thank you for your interest in piano lessons!
As a piano teacher since 2001, a volunteer youth activity and music leader, an online ESL teacher, and a mother of six, I know children learn best when they are happy, engaged, and moving. Students in my studio participate in a variety of activities to keep them interested.
My classroom is a fun place where children can feel safe to ask questions and explore their creativity. I want my students to be comfortable, which leads them to gain confidence. Then I can push and challenge their skills to build their competence.
I earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Brigham Young University in 2005. My teaching career began in 2001 when I was employed to teach group and private piano lessons at Art City Music Academy. I have also taught piano for many years as a business owner in my own music studio, worked with students in-person and online, and offered piano lessons through a local homeschool partnership. Over 20+ years, I have taught thousands of lessons to hundreds of students. I love working with children, getting to know their personalities, and seeing their talents grow!
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy playing the piano, knitting, cross-stitching, hiking with my family, walking my goldendoodle, and taking my kids to the library.
I look forward to working with you!
